Just thought we'd let you know that we had a horrible weekend, but things are better now. Sarah got sick and after much poking and probing she was admitted to the hospital . She had a fever and a very swollen face. She wouldn't eat or drink so had to be on IV. They still don't know what she had but think it was a strange virus. It was quite pathetic. We all got back home this morning and she is pretty much back to her usual self.

Congrats to our friends Caleb and Mandy who got married this weekend, sorry we missed out on most of the celebration. We are very excited for you guys.

Our good friend Cath (and Gracie) was out too. It was great to see her but that visit was a bit short too.

Christmas in Saskatchewan

We recently traveled to Saskatchewan to visit Derek's sister and her family. We celebrated an early Christmas together and had fun visiting and catching up. Here are a few photos of the event....

we got Strep

Sarah came down with a fever last week and ended up with strep throat. Today Jake got a fever so both of them are on antibiotics and things are pretty whiney around here (actually Sarah's whining and Jake is still smiley).
House is still slowly coming along. The "cabin" is almost done, at least it's at usable and the woodstove gets things cooking in no time.
I managed to fill my whitetail tag on Remembrance Day while out with Dad and Uncle Dan.
A great place to have a coffee ( unless, of course, the fire is burning, in which case you get a towel at the door and we call it a sauna party!)
My friend the woodstove ( and our "tiger" in the background)
Another Remembrance Day buck.

This is what our offspring look like without fevers.

Halloween and more....

This halloween we thought it would be fun to dress the kids up. We only went next door but it was fun anyhow! Our basement room is getting oh so close to being done. We are able to enjoy the woodstove and a cup of coffee and it feels like we are in a cabin....ahhhhh.

Not much new here. Our poor little daughter threw up tonight. Colleen's back has been bad, but is doing better. Jake is doing well, not as fussy now and is rather hefty in the weight department.
I've managed to do a bit of work on the house as well as a little hunting. I'm pretty happy that we have a video camera, as I've been able to tape 2 mule bucks sparring, a bobcat, and yesterday I called in a bull moose to 40 yards...and I'm still pumped about it.
My cute family ( I know it looks like I threw this one in as the token "non-animal" picture, but I really do love them!
2 point bulls are open season, and this is the moose I called in yesterday......

It sure pays to look twice........he was a perfect little 3 point. Not legal, but it sure was fun!

This is how goofy they get when they think a sexy lady is around!

A few weeks back, I filled my mulie tag on this little guy....he sure tastes good after last years whitetail buck.

These were some of the dumbest deer I've ever seen...two days before the season.
